Hawaii was Great!

I'm back home now and so glad we went! Beth purchased a new (very nice) camera so I'll be sharing a ton of pictures. I didn't have the chance to get any running in, but we did do some hiking in with a kid on my back so I think I got some good workouts in.

Notice I DID take my running shoes....... I just didn't actually run with them. :)

It's Been Quite - Too Quiet

Not much going on the last few days. The weather has been crazy, my job been busy and up to last night I hadn't seen Beth in about three days other than saying 'Hello' in passing. Just a few more days of the craziness and things will settle down. Never before have I looked forward to vacation time like I'm looking forward to now. Maybe it's the stress, maybe it's because the whole family is coming (ask me after if I was glad the whole family came; plane flight, travel, etc.) But whatever the reason, I am looking forward to this time.

Running wise not much on the plate over the past few days. With going back and forth between the old office and the new office, I haven't had the chance to get my afternoon walks in. Plus the weather out in So Cal is playing games - rain, no rain, hot, cold I don't know what to expect right now (not an excuse, just stating something).

Hopefully I'll get in about 5-6 miles today total and end my week an a strong note.

Finally - I want to welcome a few readers I've picked up this week. (It's a little thing I have - thanks for reading). Please comment, I do read them all and enjoy the feedback.

1st Annual Bob Hazen's Birthday Ladera Ranch 5k Run - (or 1st ABHBLD 5K R for short)

Well I ran my race yesterday, and did pretty well. I'm currently writing the race report but haven't finished just yet so I wanted to get something out today. Anyone really interested on how I did can check out my log by clicking the link on the sidebar. If you don't want to spoil the race report you'll just have to wait.

Christmas was nice, and my Birthday was good too. Beth and the kids treated me well and I couldn't ask for a better life right now. I get a few days off later in the week so maybe I can get out on my bike on Thursday for Friday, but other than that I'm not planning much else.

A Few Days Off

I've taken a few days off here just to re-group. Thursday I played in a doubleheader for softball (we won both games, and I played pretty well) so I haven't been a complete bum. Today I do plan on running sometime late this afternoon - hopefully at least 3 miles today. That won't make the whole week a complete loss. I need to gear-up and start planning another race. Otherwise it will be too easy to skip runs here and there with the cold weather setting in.

Other than that, not much else is going on - the family is great and the house is decoroated for Christmas. Beth purchased our Maui airfare tickets late last month so the family is set for our Feb vacation which I'm already looking forward to.

Work is busy, next Friday will be my last day in the old building so I have a ton of work to get donw before the end of next week. Hopefully that won't put a crimp in my training plans.
